38th Annual ?No one Should Be Alone at Christmas? - Shields Family Dinner at Blackjacks Roadhouse & Games Room
The annual event is a Shields Family Tradition
Nisku, Alberta, Canada,
? On December 25th, 2015, Blackjacks Roadhouse will once again be hosting their annual free Christmas dinner buffet, including Turkey and all the fixings. Family patriarch Jack Shields, who was born on Christmas day, began the annual event in 1977 at the family restaurant in Fort McMurray. Jack was known for giving back to the community and never wanted anyone to be alone at Christmas. Son Clarence Shields, owner of Blackjacks Roadhouse in Nisku AB, has maintained the family tradition with serving hundreds of local folks to a full and free Christmas dinner every Christmas day since.
Blackjacks Roadhouse is a full service 24 hour family Restaurant and Bar located at 2110 Sparrow Dr. Nisku, adjacent to the intersection of Highway 2 ?Queen Elizabeth Highway? and the Nisku Overpass.
The entire Shields family participates in this annual tradition, with daughter/Manager Krysta, son Derek and daughter Jackie all working in the family business. ?The kids have never had a Christmas without making dinner for hundreds of people every year since they were born? says dad Clarence Shields. ?We are also excited that the volunteer St. Peters Lutheran Church community choir will once again be treating everyone to amazing Christmas carols during the Christmas dinner?
The Free Dinner starts at 11:00am and goes until 5:00pm on Christmas Day.
Donating cash or food items to the Leduc and District Food Bank is encouraged and welcomed.
