In support of their commitment to an environmentally sustainable future, the Leduc Youth Council is hosting their first annual Community Clean-up from Sept. 12 – 20, 2020.
The Youth Council encourages all residents to support their clean-up efforts community-wide, by registering as volunteers and getting out to clean up their own neighbourhoods.
“We take great pride in our community and are committed to caring for the environment for current and future generations,” said Hannah Pfeil, Youth Council Chair. “I hope we can inspire residents across Leduc to join us in this year’s Community Clean-up event, and tidy up neighbourhoods and parks across the city.”
Due to the pandemic, this year’s event will take place virtually. Volunteers are encouraged to clean up two or three blocks (or more!) around their own neighbourhoods, and to submit before and after photos to email@example.com. The first 20 registered participants to submit their photos via email will receive a $50 local gift card. The deadline for photo submission is 4 p.m. on Sept. 20.

Participants are strongly encouraged to gather only in small groups, maintain physical distancing and practice frequent hand sanitizing. Please note that volunteers must be registered via Eventbrite and submit their photos via email to firstname.lastname@example.org by 4 p.m. Sept. 20 to be eligible for a gift card.
This is the Youth Council’s first major initiative. The Leduc Youth Council Committee provides a forum for young people between the ages of 16 and 22 to participate in local government. More information on the Youth Council is available at https://www.leduc.ca/boards-committees/youth-council.
