The Canada Summer Grant Program is sponsored by the Government of Canada. The program is designed to help Youth ages 15-30 benefit from temporary summer work experiences.
Businesses, non-profits, and public sector employers with 50 or fewer employees are eligible to apply. Positions must be full-time (30+ hours/week) and could span for 6-16 weeks.
Public and private sector employers can receive hiring grants up to 50% of employee minimum hourly rate.Not for profits can receive grants up to 100% of minimum wage plus Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs).
Next intake (for summer 2020 hires) is expected to launch in January 2020, with only a short window to apply for the March 2020 awarding date.
