    Service Manager


    Brandt Truck Rigging & Trailers is currently seeking a Service Manager for our Nisku location. This position is responsible for the delivery of heavy duty equipment after-market support services. This includes managing all aspects of the service department with the Parts department and the day-to-day activity of shop foreman, Supervisors, Lead hand, Service writers, and shop/field heavy duty mechanics. The Service Manager has significant day-to-day contact with customers, either in person or over the phone, and as required may be involved in the diagnosis and resolution of equipment problems.

    Job Duties & Responsibilities:
    • Manage service work flow to ensure work is planned, scheduled, assigned and completed on time.
    • Meet company and customer expectations for quality of work in the service shop & resident locations.
    • Prepare accurate quotes for customer work orders and ensure work orders are closed and processed.
    • Meet/communicate/work with customers to resolve the causes of customer complaints.
    • Inspect and operate customer equipment during visits to customer work sites.
    • Work with Parts to ensure inventory and service delivery levels are met.
    • Ensure work is performed according to established safety and industry standards.
    • Ensure standards, policies and reporting practices for work orders, warranty, parts return & product improvement.
    • Ensure equipment and facilities are available and safe for employee use.
    • Collaborate with corporate product support group on improving parts customer satisfaction, and service department profitability and effectiveness.
    • Other duties as assigned
    Qualifications:
    • Has 5-7 years progressive, combined experience in service, management and business (e.g. journeyperson heavy duty mechanic combined management/supervisory experience in the heavy duty equipment industry).
    • Has a solid foundation of knowledge and skill in the operation of a heavy duty equipment dealership.
    • Physically able/capable to drive or travel to customer work sites.
    • Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities and achieve work related objectives and goals.
    • Demonstrates a strong customer service orientation and exercises sound judgment when dealing with customers.
    • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers, employees, and branch personnel.
    • Has the confidence, critical thinking, knowledge and technical skills to assess and solve customer, business and personnel problems efficiently and effectively.
    • Is self-motivated in learning and applying new knowledge and skills and is willing to share knowledge with others.
    • Proficient in using work-related computer desktop and web-based productivity applications.
    • Demonstrates a strong commitment to occupational health and safety.
