    The Opportunity

    We are currently looking to hire a Health Care Aide in Calgary, AB. This will be a Temporary-Full Time opportunity providing care for one of CarePros' clients based out of the Alberta Children's Hospital in Calgary.

    This position will typically work a 3 day on 3 day off rotation of 9am-9pm. Some flexibility in scheduling will be required. 

    Who You Are

    As a Health Care Aide, you possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    • Knowledge of mental wellness practices and the processes and procedures involved in providing effective care, including, but not limited to:
      • Assisting with meals
      • Bathing
      • Diaper changes
      • Play time
      • Naps and bedtime routine
    • Knowledge of CPR and First Aid techniques needed to assess and treat injuries.
    • Proficiency in the English language, with the ability to comprehend instructions and communicate in a clear and logical manner.
    • Ability to actively listen, identify needs, and provide solutions to the client.
    • Recognize and understand emotions and handle situations with empathy.
    • Build and maintain cooperative and constructive relationships. 
    You have a post-secondary education in nursing, completed a Health Care Aide Certificate program, or completed of diploma, degree, or certificate in a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

    Other qualifications include:
    • You are certified in First Aid and certified as a CPR Level C.
    • A certificate in Health Care Aide from a recognized program
    • You have a valid and current Class 5 Drivers License and proper vehicle insurance coverage.
    • A clear Vulnerable Sector Check
    • A clear Intervention Record Check from Children Services 
    • You have the physical wellness and mental health awareness to handle daily exercise routine and other requirements as prescribed by the care plan and a high capacity for managing stressful situations. 
    • A strong alignment and commitment to working in an environment that actively promotes Inclusion and Diversity
