    NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for individuals dedicated to making a difference to join our Continuing Education and Partner Solution team as casual instructors for various Microsoft Office courses.

    If you’re a Microsoft Office Super User and are able to share and teach others to be like you, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.  We have a variety of courses that cover different levels and aspects of the Microsoft Office suite available.  Most courses are 3 hours in length and occur during evening and weekends.

    How you’ll make a difference

    • Prepare and facilitate the delivery of Microsoft Office workshops at the introductory and advanced levels online and/ or in person classroom.
    • Answer student questions and provide individual feedback on written assignments.
    • Revise curriculum, develop appropriate learning activities and teaching plans for each teaching assignment.
    • Manage the classroom to provide an optimum learning environment for students.
    • Work cooperatively with the Continuing Education Consultant and colleagues in a “team” environment.
    • Work 1 on 1 with individuals that need extra support.
    What you bring
    • University degree or a combination of post-secondary education and experience.
    • Completion of Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certification or equivalent experience in teaching or other education in Microsoft
    • A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access) both in software format and in the Microsoft Office 365 web application from introductory and advance levels.
    • Extensive experience (minimum of 3 years) using MS office software
    • At least 2 years of teaching/instructing experience
    • Experience facilitating online and/or in-person classrooms

    • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to teach individuals at different skill levels including clients with no digital literacy or low digital literacy skills.
    • Ability to establish and maintain an interactive learning environment with skill practice and be able to apply the basic principles and practices of adult education.
    • Recent relevant business/industry teaching experience an asset.
    • Ability to evaluate students’ performance through various academic assessments.
    • Documenting student attendance, participation, and academic progress.
    • Advanced skills in conflict resolution and problem solving.
    • Ability to develop different classroom strategies to keep learners engaged.
    • Strong oral communication and writing skills.
    • Culturally sensitive and have an ability to work with a diverse population.

    SALARY:  Hourly rate Reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience.
