The Canada Summer Jobs Grant Program is sponsored by the Government of Canada. The program is designed to help Youth ages 15-30 benefit from temporary work experiences.
Unlike previous years, the 2021 Grant can be used for qualifying student employment starting April 26, 2021 with the last intake starting January 22, 2022. In 2021 it is not just or SUMMER. Businesses, non-profits, and public sector employers with 50 or fewer employees are eligible to apply. Unlike previous years, positions can be part-time or full-time.
Public and private sector employers can receive hiring grants up to 75% of employee minimum hourly rate. Not for profits can receive grants up to 100% of minimum wage plus Mandatory Employment Related Costs (MERCs).
Next intake,(for 2021 hires) launched December 21, with only a short window to apply for the January 29, 2021 closing date.
