Policy & Advocacy
Our Work
The Leduc, Nisku & Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber champions managed growth in the local economy and monitors municipal, provincial and federal governments and we advocate for our members at all levels of government.
Through our Board of Directors' Policy Committee, the Chamber works with business and government to develop and implement policies designed to ensure the region provides an atmosphere that is conducive to business success and sustainable economic growth.
Our advocacy begins by engaging directly with members through in-person meetings, surveys, and targetted events. This input helps us identify barriers to business growth and develop practical solutions to bring forward to government, while also increasing awareness of issues affecting the local business community.
We collaborate closely with our partners at the Alberta Chambers of Commerce and the Canadian Chamber of Commerce to address concerns that extend beyond the local level. For a complete list of positions advocated by the Alberta Chambers of Commerce, visit their Policy Book. For a full list of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 policy resolutions, visit their Policy Book.

Past Policy Issues & Projects
Provided guidance, resources and connection events outlined in a Media Release: Trade Tariffs and Supporting Our Members in 2025
With partners: City of Leduc, EIA, and members, we supported the proposed 65th Avenue Interchange Project as a infrastructure priority that saw completion in 2025.
In efforts to provide the business community with invaluable opportunities and access to information that enables collaboration and economic growth, we suggested the City of Leduc start to live-stream Council Meetings in 2019.
Striving to lessen the tax burden on business, we co-sponsored the Municipal Funding Policy to revise funding splits for municipal infrastructure projects at the 2018 Alberta Chambers Annual General Meeting and Policy Session.
